it always starts out with beautiful flower arrangements

prettily arranged gift tables

games and dessert

even a special place setting for p

maybe this time she'll follow the lead of the older civilized girls

oh, we even have a craft

and nice civilized play with second cousin and first cousin once removed

.........trouble brews

oh no... sugar.

maybe aunt tootie can keep it all under control

maybe not

escapee stage left

first cousin once removed goes to wrangle

first cousin once removed tries in vane with second cousin 2 and second cousin's cousin

great, now she's stealing presents

sigh of relief, she was putting them away.

note:  this scene of mayhem was shot on the run while correcting  the wild child and, fortunately, all scenes of  civilized 6-8 year olds losing there manners to form a stampede of giggles and chase the stampeding and giggling two year old happened during non important portions of the above gathering.  that being said, i would like to say that i had left the stampeding child at home and was forced to have her father drop her off by the peer pressure of many family members.  to those family members....you obviously got what you deserved.  i would like to call attention to the girl in the last photo....may she forever be at family functions as we wouldn't have made it through without her.  her thank you present is in the mail!
