kill the wabbit

i've never had a problem with rabbits in the past.... then, all the sudden, WHAM. they're here.

years ago i was blithely living life and a few non aggressive locust wasps moved in.  they weren't bothering anything so i let them be... cut to 3 years later and i'm killing my whole vegetable garden and poisoning any non cemented ground surface: lesson learned.

i'm not tolerating the rabbits.

this flopsy bunny was just in the garden bed... watch out benjamin bunny, i'm channelling mr. macgregor.

around here (my house) there are not enough natural predators.... the unbalance is becoming obvious.
it's not rabbit season so i can't kill any rabbits (and i'm not willing to break the law) but i can encourage my neighbor's cat to kill them... and call eleanor over and let her bolt out of the door and scare them within an inch of their life. (which means i won't' be planting from seed because eleanor inevitably tramples something that's just shooting up)
i can lay down coyote urine (and believe me i'm considering it) or other deterrent and i can make their lives miserable until they move on.

war has been declared.  kill the rabbit.

note: i bought 'deer off' repellant and it seems to be working... but i probably just jinxed myself.
