we've made a switch to farm eggs/eggs from 'scratch chickens'.... and some of them are green.
i love them.

he bought hens who laid green eggs to please his children.... gotta love a farmer with a sense of whimsy |
we finally found a real chicken farmer/(breeder/whatever you would say) in that i went to his house and saw his chickens and p collected some herself (i don't trust all the farmer's market people, some of them are posers).
(we actually accidentally found out the egg part. i was searching for a bee keeper and my friend just happened to mention one.)
in general it's just so much nicer to see a pretty color variation in your ones' eggs.

i've started to price check them and so far it's only about 25 cents less than whole foods (according to someone i know) but i don't shop at whole foods. i kinda think that if i go to his place they should be a little cheaper but at least they're local. |
