it never occurred to me growing up how fortunate i was to know a nuclear engineer/ amateur (dedicated and knowledgeable) archeologist.
but now that p is meeting him and his wife it really sinks in.
their dedication and desire to share the amazing things discovered in Biblical archeology is just cool.
and that's the real deal folks. a piece of pottery from the time of Abraham. no joke, and she got to take it home.
we know that in the world at large such a piece is not at all valuable, pot shards are junk in the middle east unless they're written on or a whole pot is found that can be pieced together (an intact piece is not allowed to leave the country of origin) but to us it is so cool and beyond valuable; and listening to the Bible come alive in archeology is just priceless.
