creation museum

we arrived just in time to get 2 hours in at the museum.
since the tickets are good for two days we did as much exploring as we could.
we spent the night in a real hotel.
translation:  breakfast was provided so we didn't have to eat our cereal out of cups.
it was obvious that a lot of guests were also recently at or going to the museum.
they were just, nice.
one lady had met p yesterday.  i noticed she had a french accent and after i confirmed that with her i was finally able to have p talk to someone who was french.
we have a cd of french songs from the 60's and p is obsessed with how people talk in france.
so she and p had fun talking and singing in french/ p-french.
we had the opportunity to hear dr. georgia purdom speak.
her brain is so amazing.
go hear her speak if you ever can.
mr. buddy's song time was a big hit with p.
and going through the exhibits about 4 times was also a big with p.
there was also story time with a woman who seemed to be filling in.
something in how she didn't seem to love children made me think that it wasn't her regular gig.
but it was really nice anyways.
p's favorite was 'flying through space', also known as the planetarium show.
one of them was done by the astronomer we had heard talk weeks previous and i was able to tell p it was the speaker she had made the picture for.
i don't know if that made an impression or not.
but it was a great time.

i'm not one to really be the mom who always talks about how proud she is of her kid, even here i tend to lace things with sarcasm, but i couldn't help but be proud of our stinker.
hiking 13 miles at 4.  amazing.  a pediatrician from cleveland was so impressed she asked to take a picture to show her patients at home (this was on the rainbow falls trail which was a difficult one).
was extended past bed times and never taken to a traditional kid place and she had fun.
she drove a total of 19 hours in the car without the help of an electronic device.  resorting to alphabet road games and sining (singing a lot of frozen sound tracks).
we asked a lot of her and she was amazing.  so proud of you p.

she was glad to get home.  we walked in the door at 10 pm and she ran to her craft basket and made a toy for my parents cat.  love you girl.
