i have to admit i've not been the best at using my time this week.
come back from vacation. tired. house to clean. oh yea, a child to teach.
my wing it lessons ended perfectly before vacation and i thought how cool that God worked it out that way.
two different books started at very different times ( a Bible book that was started in the summer) ended at the same time because it just worked out that way and i was thanking the Lord for his hand in what seems like such a small detail.
so i come home and now is time to jump into the real curriculum.
i might be the only one who remembers i was using books and songs from all over because p didn't have all her ABC's down pat in the form of recognition.
so we winged it and i come to find that with the 3 year old book that i made up my own instructions for and songs we sung to learn letter sounds (short) and her love of long vowel sounds (she asked me to teach her the long sounds and begs to start the song with long vowels - weird kid) and my dogged determination to have her learn numbers 1-20….
she is now technically past the first six weeks of her lessons that she hasn't even started yet.
oh and i come to find the kit has a Bible activity book but no Bible lesson book (really people?) and the lesson kit is way expensiosive. bummer.
i don't understand why there isn't a book that just accompanies the lesson plan. what's the deal?
doesn't it just make sense to have one book that has a page to go with every lesson planned for the year.
looking at the set up i have to choose between sections of the Bible and then insert the holiday stuff in the appropriate time frame…
i don't want to be picky but since children's Bibles have been produced for decades for reasonable prices i never expected to run into this problem…. can't i just get one book!

so we might be winging Bible time. i have a few calls to make to different companies.
good part: she'll think this first six weeks is a breeze and i know that i have not ruined her education.
that's a relief.
oh, we now also know that she makes a cute rain cloud on halloween.
