meet frostina

 a while ago it snowed.  i just heard the weather and they're threatening with snow again.
spring come already.
but that last time it snowed it was a good one...

and i thought, this is probably the last play-able snow of the season.

and everything we usually do on that day was cancelled because of it.

and mother guilt finally got the better of me and i dragged myself out of my slightly warmer house into the backyard to build a snowman with p.

she wanted it to be a girl snow man.

so we named her Frostina [our last name] the snow girl.

this is where she whispered: 'i love you, i don't want you to ever melt.'
it turned warm after the snow and she fell over approximately 5 hours later.

the rest of the day was full of imagination since we had all kinds of spare time.

for instance:

taking turns gently throwing a pretend baby bird into the air so she could learn how to fly while repeating 'good job baby bird, you are flying' and then catching said baby bird when she grew tired.

i'll be holding onto that memory for a long time.
