the famzizzle and i decided to go for a walk to search for a certain tree that hizzle wanted. when we pulled up to our location our dear loved ones wanted to go and we said YES. |
i came equipped with my water sling and could rest assured that i was fully prepared. |
i was slightly paranoid about ticks at this point. |
every walk with children starts out like this.. |
then moves to this.. |
and seems to end up like this. in the kids defense there was poison ivy e.v.e.r.y.w.h.e.r.e. |
i think we were looking for a monkey ball tree but we ended up finding a hickory that would do. |
and a toad was found, |
and... |
a skeleton (the experts informed us it was most likely a raccoon. i instantly became concerned if rabies could be transmitted through bones) |
oh, please don't touch that. |
silent contemplation |
since the big boys were doing slightly more dangerous stuff the kiddies and i concentrated on noticing things in the woods... while at safe distances. |
lesson on tree rings |
safe distance moment |
all done and waiting for a ride. |
could be the cover for girl of the limber lost. |
i promise this was safe and the driving was very slow. |
the truck was not moving at this point. promise. |
nothing like a safe big hand to keep little hands. |
the end. |
