i took a half day without even trying

i made plans with a friend to spend a morning in the shopping district... all were invited but for some reason the husbands did not want to come (they're crazy... actually one didn't want to go and hizam decided not to be a testosteroney third wheel) and that meant i couldn't bring p, at least i wouldn't be able to take her without having a panic attack every three seconds due to me managing her solely in a crowded and highly trafficked area.  that scenario did not sound very enticing.... so she and hizam spent most of the day together and i had a half day off.  it was so weird.

i knew i was in trouble

it looked way more appetizing in person, i promise.

i w.i.s.h. i could make that bread.  is there a bread school you can go to

things we liked

and then there was idea gathering for this year's ice cream social
maybe
maybe
smell that? those are fresh baked pepperoni rolls
i couldn't resist an african violet for a dollar
my friend couldn't resist these

and then we went to a church
to buy pierogies (i was trying to snatch a picture of the white haired old lady who made them/sold them... i missed)

my will power left me at the polish store... we ate this with the pierogies
this was good. and the rose taste lingered quite a long time and was really pleasant

i even had time to read on the porch
this quote says: "And from that day to this, no power on earth can keep a rabbit out of a vegetable garden..."
hint: i've been singing 'kill the wabbit"
p.s. family smart phone is now my new 'purse' camera for when i do not feel like carrying the extra camera weight.  we are officially smart phone/data plan free and we really like it.

  1. I don't know about a bread making 'school', but there is a bread making class at Enrico Biscotti in the Strip where you can learn how to make this type of artisan bread. Check their website for a schedule: http://enricobiscotti.com/
