last night bo and i sat down to listen to david jeremiah's 'a panorama of Bible prophecy' series from the beginning. i listen to it during the day but i'm busy and don't absorb it all, so we're doing it together. well, listening to the 3/2/12 mr. jeremiah laid out nine scripture references that he called a 'chain reference through the Epistles for prophecy' and to paraphrase his words: if you really understand prophecy you will be motivated and passionate for Christ. encouragement to practically apply understanding in your life and not only get bogged down in the intellectual nuances etc. This chain reference could be old news to everyone but me but i loved it (i'm assuming mr. jeremiah either came up with it or sourced it from somewhere). every verse is a familiar verse and most of us can start quoting it as it's read but lining them up like this is just so cool and exciting. listen to the broadcast and write it down for yourself.... it's so worth it. the great thing about listening to online archives is you can pause it to look up a reference. i told bo i wish i could pause the preachers on sundays sometimes: 'hold on i'm not there yet'. i was using the great big family Bible and i think bo was getting a little annoyed because it took me a little longer to navigate it than a smaller Bible. he was using a Bible downloaded on the computer so he would be at a reference as fast as he could type it. i'm too old school. i like to read it for myself on paper and i want the family Bible to be 'well loved, well used, and well marked'... you know. I'll be in heaven but a future generation will know that this Bible was important. (unless the Lord comes back very soon anyway)
