a different kind of vertically challenged

one late saturday afternoon pennie, my sister, and i were relaxing after some busy activities by thoroughly enjoying some veggie tales....
then our veggied out state was interrupted by bo's voice coming through the hole in the wall:
"you're about to smell melting burning plastic but everything's okay"
expressions must have said it all because the story continued...
"i was heating up food and i thought i took all the bread out of the microwave but i missed the bag with just two pieces in it because i'm too tall to see it in the back and i didn't bend down to check...."

it's nice to hear that tall people encounter vertical challenges too.....

speaking of really tall people.  i noticed this on troy manning's blog (he's incredibly tall):

A co-worker shared a chart that gives the current stats on BT around the world. You can find the chart at this address: https://fbcdn-sphotos-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/427619_337843629592530_177861942257367_986560_817862870_n.jpg.
Let me total the statistics for you:
  • 471 languages with a full Bible
  • 1,223 languages with a NT
  • 1,002 languages with just portions of Scripture
  • 4,142 languages with no known Scripture
The needs around the world are still immense! How many millions of people still wait for the Word of God in their own language!

i almost can't believe it's true.  makes me think about how much i don't think about how blessed i am to even have a Bible.  considering i don't speak hebrew or greek or latin i'm very grateful for dedicated translators.

  1. You need to also tell about the phone number that was stored on top of the microwave.
