my exception

i usually don't post anything about missionaries not associated with my church because, well, it's an easy line draw (instead of coming up with a list of reasons why i would choose these versus those missionaries) but i guess since i'm the only one who makes up the rules and only my family and friends read this i can break my own rules........
pray for one more missionary?  my aunt and uncle, or, uncle and aunt.... whatever.  they are missionaries to pitcairn and they also take mission trips to haiti (read about them some here).  so i thought i'd mention them as they'll be going to haiti in march and i'm praying that people will be reached for Christ.

i was reading a missionary letter from puerto rico last night and they described a woman who accepted Christ as her Savior.  When the missionary asked her if she wanted to accept God's gift of salvation her response was: "I want it! I want it!" and she described her salvation as: "It's Marvelous! It's Marvelous!"
i was so happy to read it and then i thought of the angels rejoicing in heaven when she was saved.
it's so worth the time spent thinking and praying for our missionaries.
(missionaries mentioned to puerto rico are the Markles)

Luke 15:4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth....

on a different missionary note.  it was interesting to read troy manning's blog post about the translating process in Indian dialects and the hunger and desire people have for the Bible in their first language.    read it here. may i be that hungry and desirous.

  1. Thanks so much for breaking your rule :).
My daily prayer for the boys that we minister to in Pitcairn and those that we minister to in Haiti is not just to meet physical needs (and believe me in Haiti those needs are overwhelming) but to show them Jesus, not just in deed but in Word. That they would come to know Him and be known by Him.
We are so thankful for all of you who pray for us but my hope is that you will pray for the kids in Pitcairn and all the kids in Haiti.
We have come to love each one of them!!!
Thanks Kassandra!! All of your church Missionaries are so blessed to have a prayer warrior like you!! (and I am too!!)
    Love you,
    a. carol
