i just wanted to make clear why it is i'm ocd about the terra cotta:

i now realize i've been obsessing over this for almost a year; well, a year in july, but i remind myself that a missionary family i know used a dried out, cracked, plastic dish rack mat that was a hand me down for over a year because it functioned and money could be better used elsewhere....and then i feel ashamed and i know, i'll live.
