this lion has frostbite

it seems every where we go the past week and a half we are privy to another piece of sad news.  it makes one almost afraid of the answer when we ask the question "how are you doing?" february ended with frostbite and march so far isn't any better.....these are the songs that keep my chin up when it wants to go to bed and put the covers over it and eat semi sweet chocolate chips (okay, maybe i'm indulging that one) and remind me of who is in control.

Safe in the Arms of Jesus by Fanny Crosby

  1. Safe in the arms of Jesus,
    Safe on His gentle breast;
    There by His love o’ershaded,
    Sweetly my soul shall rest.
    Hark! ’tis the voice of angels
    Borne in a song to me,
    Over the fields of glory,
    Over the jasper sea.
    • Refrain:
      Safe in the arms of Jesus,
      Safe on His gentle breast;
      There by His love o’ershaded,
      Sweetly my soul shall rest.
  2. Safe in the arms of Jesus,
    Safe from corroding care,
    Safe from the world’s temptations;
    Sin cannot harm me there.
    Free from the blight of sorrow,
    Free from my doubts and fears;
    Only a few more trials,
    Only a few more tears!
  3. Jesus, my heart’s dear Refuge,
    Jesus has died for me;
    Firm on the Rock of Ages
    Ever my trust shall be.
    Here let me wait with patience,
    Wait till the night is o’er;
    Wait till I see the morning
    Break on the golden shore.

God Will Take Care of You by Civilla D. Martin

  1. Be not dismayed whate’er betide,
    God will take care of you;
    Beneath His wings of love abide,
    God will take care of you.
    • Refrain:
      God will take care of you,
      Through every day, o’er all the way;
      He will take care of you,
      God will take care of you.
  2. Through days of toil when heart doth fail,
    God will take care of you;
    When dangers fierce your path assail,
    God will take care of you.
  3. All you may need He will provide,
    God will take care of you;
    Nothing you ask will be denied,
    God will take care of you.
  4. No matter what may be the test,
    God will take care of you;
    Lean, weary one, upon His breast,
    God will take care of you.

one of my favorite lullabies is based on the Philippians 4:19 but i cannot find the lyrics on line.....but it's a wonderful heart salve.  needless to say the first line is " Our God will supply all of our need...."
