developments

our dear little penelope STOOD on her own today for a full 5 mississippi's and that, my friends, is a long river.  she even moved her hands up an down and balanced a little.  she's done this before and as before i was seated on the ground absolutely no where near the camera.  i then proceeded to spend 20 minutes trying to replicate the move or rather the stand.  i tried everything.  i offered every prohibited item that safety would allow but i couldn't get a good picture.  this was the best i could do.

 the child is also in love with the vacuum.  when it appears, she can never be more than a foot away from it's screaming siren song.

  a tooth has come forth....but we're not quite sure which one.....seriously, it's in the top somewhere on the right.  gaining access to the little mouth, whether with food or for tooth investigation purposes, is rather difficult and really can only be accomplished under circumstances of violent laughter or violent crying.  unfortunately, both include violent wiggling and so we can get glimpses of the tooth and see that it has moved slightly past the gum line but we cannot definitively say which one it is.  sorry pen, your baby book may have wrong info.
